Gibraltar is a small state with its approx. 6.5km², strictly speaking it is a city-state. The British Crown Colony is located on a rocky peninsula in the south of Spain.
The climate in Gibraltar is actually typically Mediterranean. Summers are hot and dry - but not quite as hot as in the warm areas of Spain. The winters are also more rainy than in the south of Spain. The reason is the catchment area of the Atlantic lowlands. On the other hand the winters are generally quite warm.
Gibraltar is also in a windy area. The influence of the winds have a strong effect on the weather and can quickly lead to a change in the weather. These winds can often be very turbulent e.g. at the airport and at the port facilities of Gibraltar.
Basically, you can visit Gibraltar all year round with the best time for Gibraltar between April and October.
