Kuwait is a state and a peninsula in Arabia. Borders exist with Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait also has a coastline to the Arabian Gulf. Like many countries in Arabia, Kuwait is primarily characterized by a desert climate.
Kuwait, typical of the region, is a fairly flat country, which overall has a fairly hot and dry climate. There is very little rainfall, with most rain normally falling between November and March. Practically rain-free are usually the months from May to October.
Winters are generally quite mild. It only gets cool when colder winds from Iran and Iraq reach the country. Summers, on the other hand, are generally warm or hot. The stronger the wind blows from the land areas of Arabia, the hotter it gets. Peak temperatures are usually reached from June to August. Midday temperatures of up to 50° C are not uncommon. When inland temperatures are very high, sandstorms are always to be expected.
On the coastal sections, the great heat is somewhat alleviated by sea breezes, and temperatures are also somewhat lower compared to inland areas. On the other hand, the humidity is somewhat higher on the coasts, which makes the heat seem somewhat more uncomfortable.
The coolest month in Kuwait is normally January, with average temperatures around 14°C. At night, temperatures can drop significantly. At night, temperatures can generally drop significantly, and in January, the thermometer may drop to as low as 0° C.
The best time to travel to Kuwait is most likely between October and March, when it is not quite as hot. The rains during that time are bearable.
