St. Lucia is a Caribbean island which, along with Barbados, Martinique, Grenada and St. Vincent, is part of the chain of so-called islands under the wind. St. Lucia is one of the larger of these islands.
St. Lucia is relatively hilly to mountainous. Interestingly, the more hilly islands in the chain have comparatively higher rainfall than the other islands. Therefore, St. Lucia is also more rainy than Barbados, for example. The climate table of Castries, the capital of St. Lucia, is typical of the climate on St. Lucia.
The climate on St. Lucia is basically tropical, whereby the very high heat is greatly mitigated by the sea winds.
It actually rains all year round and every month gets some rain. You can see a main rain phase from around July to November. This is the hurricane season on St. Lucia, but it can also be said for St. Lucia that the very heavy storms do not get through to the island every year. Yet it is always conceivable.
The best time for St. Lucia is outside of the rainy season between December or rather January to April (December around Christmas can be rainy)
