Best Time To Travel To: Venezuela
Venezuela there are three climatic regions in the Andes. The Tierra Caliente (sea level up to 900 meters), Tierra Templada (900 to 1800 meters) and Tierra Fria (1.800 to 3000). Basically, one can say: the higher, the colder and, as a rule, the more precipitation.
The northern foothills of the Andes have less precipitation than the southern ones. The climate table of Caracas is representative for the climate of the Tierra Templada. The relatively dry climate is conspicuous there, but it can be found everywhere on the north coast of Venezuela. Here the sun shines very often, it is often cloudless and rains rather rarely. You can even count on six hours of sunshine a day in the rainy months, and in the dry months the number increases up to eight hours of sunshine.
Of course, it rains much more in the mountainous regions, where you get an average of 1000mm of precipitation. Here, only the sheltered valleys and parts of the northern foothills receive less rain. On the coasts, one can observe a continuous increase in rainfall from the relatively low-rainfall area around Lake Maracaibo to the east. There, the rainfall reaches about 1,000mm, whereas the lowlands around Lake Maracaibo are almost hot all year round.
The Llanos - the area of the Orinoco - has a hot and tropical climate. A rainy season is here between April and October. There is practically no cold weather here, the temperatures are almost constantly warm all year round. As a result, the rainy season is also somewhat unpleasant, because the humidity then becomes very high.
In the southeast lies the plateau Venezuela - Guyana. Here it rains relatively much, but there is also a quite dry season with little rain. The temperatures are not so extremely high due to the altitude and also the humidity is not very high, compared for example with the Llanos.

The optimal time to travel to Venezuela is usually outside the rainy season, roughly between December and April.
